¡¤ Since independence in 1971, there have been security concerns from neighboring countries due to poor defense capabilities, but they maintain peace through diplomatic efforts and basically maintain defensive military strategies.
¡¤ The possibility of a small border clash on the 4,600 km border with India has been a security threat to Bangladesh, but there is a difference of intimacy with India depending on the party in power.

¡¤ Basic Concept: Defensive National Defense Policy with Limited Attack Capability
¡¤ The basic concept of fighting guerrilla warfare for national defense in wartime
- Active commanders above the usual battalion commander lead paramilitary organizations such as the Local Defense Command (ANSAR & VDP), the Border Guard (BDR), and the Coast Guard (BCG) under the organization of the Ministry of the Interior.
- The military prefers military support because it is a voluntary system and is treated relatively well compared to the economic level.
¡¤ Long-term plan for military modernization, Force Goal 2030, is being promoted with the aim of increasing the size of troops, securing the latest weapons and providing the latest training, and fostering the self-defense industry.
¡¤ Under the Constitution, the commander-in-chief of the armed forces is the president, and the highest organization that determines and implements military policies is the Prime Minister's Office of Military Adviser Armed Forces Division (AFD).
- The Ministry of National Defense has no authority over the organization of the armed forces, is weaker than the AFD, and the current prime minister is concurrently the defense minister.
- During peacetime, the prime minister directs each military or coordinates each military affairs through the prime minister's military adviser's office.
¡¤ AFD controls the military by conveying and reflecting the prime minister's command over education, purchase of supplies and equipment, overseas dispatch, and administrative cooperation of each county.
- In wartime, the prime minister's military adviser's office will be composed of a joint command, in which the prime minister will play a role in controlling and commanding the entire military.
¡¤ A six-member advisory committee consisting of the heads of the Army, Navy and Air Force, the president's military adviser, the prime minister's military adviser, and the prime minister's military adviser will play an advisory role to assist the president and the prime minister in coordinating military policies and foreign policy.
