The main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party continued its hard-line struggle during the election period, including its boycott of the 2014 general elections, demanding that the general elections be held first after the restoration of the interim neutral government.

¡¤ The ruling party's Awami Federation and the government have been cracking down on illegal activities such as violent protests since winning the 2014 general elections, while consolidating their power by arresting opposition figures in the name of counterterrorism operations.
- Bangladesh Nationalist Party President Zia in February 2018 is serving time for embezzlement of trust funds at Zia orphanage and embezzlement of charitable trust funds, and the absence of an opposition leader to keep the ruling party in check.

¡¤ Massive anti-government protests continued during 2018, including demonstrations on the quota system for civil servants and student protests on traffic safety, while Bangladesh's Nationalist Party formed a national united front, an alliance of opposition parties.

- The ruling Awami League won a landslide victory (288 out of 298 seats)

¡¤ As terror attacks targeting foreigners as well as Koreans have continued in recent years, Bangladesh's security authorities have been conducting major counterterrorism operations since 2015, but security concerns have continued.
- In particular, with the weakening of existing moderate opposition forces in line with the trend of strengthening Islamic fundamentalism across society, radical hard-liners have made strides.
¡Ø The killing of secularist writers and bloggers between 2013 and 2016 (a total of 12 or more people) occurred, ¡â Italian shooting in the diplomatic complex of Dhaka Gulshan in September 2015 and in the northwestern part of the host country in October 2015.
Japanese were shot, 1616.7.1, and 22 people, including 18 foreigners, were killed in a hostage attack at the Gulshan Diplomatic Corps, and the resumption of terrorist attacks on secularist writers and bloggers after March 2018.

¡¤ About 700,000 Rohingya people have been attacked by Myanmar's Rohingya rebels at a military police post in Rakain, Myanmar (2017.8.25) due to the indiscriminate suppression of the Rohingya people by the Rohingya people.
It has been brought into the host country of Cox's Bazaar and is temporarily residing in Bangladesh.
- As of May 2019, about 1 million Rohingya refugees, including about 300,000 who were already temporarily residing in Bangladesh, were in temporary residence at the refugee camp in Cox's Bazar state.
- Bangladesh has agreed to a repatriation agreement with Myanmar with the goal of early repatriation of the refugees through bilateral negotiations (2017.11.23), and is negotiating repatriation, but when is the actual repatriation?
